Because who doesn’t like pickles without the work and wait? You’ll devour these as fast as you can make them. All you need is a jar, a handful of cucumbers, and a few other ingredients most likely sitting in your pantry right now . The only thing you might be missing is a sandwich to throw these things on.
Pro tip: Save the remainder pickle juice for those crazy Friday nights when you need a whiskey chaser, or as we like to call 'em, pickle backs.
Ingredients:
4-5 pickling cucumbers
1 tsp raw sugar cane
1 tsp sea salt
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup water
Method:
1. Fill a mason jar with the cucumbers, it is ok to pack them in tight as they will shrink when pickled.
2. Add your salt, sugar, vinegar and water mixture. Shake and shake some more.
3. Eat right away or refrigerate and eat later, they will soften while sitting, but are great both ways.
For more flavor you can add finely sliced scallions, jalapeño, sea salt, peppercorns, herbs (chives, mustard powder, dill, etc) or other veggies.
