Richmond holds a very special place in our hearts. I think I can vouch for all of us when I say that we’ll take ANY opportunity we can to visit this scenic, little river city. So what better excuse to make that long haul up the east coast than the Richmond Tattoo Convention! That and the fact that Jax would be reppin’ it hard all weekend with multiple florida-local artists attending. Among these artists, was our favorite lady tattoo artist and BFF Myra Oh! An incredibly talented babe, hailing from the Bay–who has been tattooing in lucky Jacksonville for almost five years now. We definitely encourage you to check out her work at Myraoh.com / ig@MyraOh.
The three-day event marked the 21st annual Richmond Tattoo Convention; making it one of the longest, continuously running conventions of it’s kind. Featuring a select group of world class artists, books, prints and of course tattooing everywhere. I was lucky enough to catch some ink time with the folks from Hold it Down; a Richmond based tattoo shop, who reserved their convention time for out-of-town walk-ups only. If you’re ever in the Richmond area, stop by Hold it Down 4 tha ‘low down’ on the bustling RVA tat scene and get tattooed (if your into that)! Or just talk to the dudes, their personalities and talent have the ability to charm all. Josh Stephens can chat for days over Screamo bands *swoon’d*` and Mike Adams can provide you with great suggestions for all the outdoor activities in RVA imaginable. Oh and Rempe is just fucking awesome.
