Winter in Florida contains an odd dichotomy between expectations and reality. While a mild version of the season exists for our state; the humidity and cold work together to bring a largely tropical climate to it's knees. And, counter intuitively, when a freeze is coming, the citrus trees are watered. The water changing from liquid to ice emits heat. This mild warmth of 32 degree F is known as the triple point - an equilibrium between vapor, liquid and ice. With enough water, and enough ice, the state fruit survives. Something that seems so harsh and unforgiving, gives a known and sustaining warmth.
A similar polarity emanates from the label's upcoming output. The Elsinores are a punk band from Kentucky. Something pop and uplifting, although it doesn't take much listening to realize something dark is happening here. The other band, Hexis, is from Copenhagen. Black. Hardcore. Metal. Call it whatever you want. Winter days, with only seven hours of daylight, can't be expected to pass idly.

Dead Tank has been racking up a killer amount of amazing bands so we are very excited to feature monthly mixtapes. We just want to buy all the records. All of them.
